About Maple Seeds

Rooted in Community

We are a family-centered homeschool collective created to make learning more connected, collaborative, and joyful.

Our mission

Helping Homeschool Families Learn, Connect, and Thrive

Maple Seeds Homeschool Collective exists to create a welcoming community where homeschool families can build relationships, share resources, and participate in meaningful educational and social experiences.

We believe children flourish when they have opportunities to learn alongside others, explore their interests, and feel a genuine sense of belonging.

The People Helping Maple Seeds Grow

Meet our Board Members below!

Board member one

Gretchen Hoban

President

Gretchen founded Maple Seeds after struggling to find a homeschool community that felt like the right fit for her family. What began as a small nature playgroup is now growing into a nonprofit dedicated to supporting local homeschooling families. She is passionate about creating a welcoming space where children and parents can learn, connect, and thrive together—meeting every family exactly where they are.

Board member two

Agata King

Vice President

Agata is a first-generation immigrant from Poland with a deep commitment to building strong, connected communities. She brings extensive experience in both technology and nonprofit leadership to Maple Seeds, overseeing the organization’s full technology stack, digital infrastructure, and systems. Her blend of technical expertise and nonprofit experience helps keep Maple Seeds organized, accessible, and equipped to grow alongside the community it serves.

Board member three

Sarah Syed

Treasurer

Sarah believes childhood should be filled with wonder, connection, and a love of learning. Through homeschooling, she has discovered the joy of slowing down, growing alongside her children, and embracing education beyond the classroom. She is dedicated to helping build a homeschool community where every family feels welcomed, supported, and encouraged to learn and grow together.
